Information we collect

To provide safe and appropriate riding instruction, we collect:

• Contact information — rider and parent or guardian name, email address, and phone number.
• Rider profile information — date of birth, weight, riding experience, and any medical or physical notes you choose to share that affect safe instruction.
• Account and booking information — lessons, programs, event registrations, and your signed liability waiver.

Why we collect it

This information is used only to run the riding program: matching riders to suitable horses, keeping lessons safe, scheduling and confirming bookings, processing payments, and communicating with you about your account. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Consent for riders under 18

For riders under 18, information is collected and stored with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. That consent is part of the liability waiver signed before the first lesson, which includes a clause permitting River Road Horsemanship to store the rider's personal information electronically for the purpose of providing instruction.

How your information is stored and protected

Your information is stored in a secure, access-controlled database hosted on Vercel infrastructure. All data is encrypted in transit between your browser and our servers. We take reasonable measures to protect your information against unauthorized access.

Who can access your information

Rider and family information is accessible only to Hannah Baier, the instructor and operator of River Road Horsemanship. It is not shared with other students or families or with third parties, except for the service providers needed to operate the business (such as our payment processor) as described below.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Stripe. River Road Horsemanship never sees or stores your full card number — card details are entered directly with Stripe, which is certified to industry security standards. How long we keep your information

We keep rider and account information for as long as the account is active and for up to two years after the last lesson, after which it may be removed or anonymized. Business records such as payment history and signed liability waivers may be retained longer where required for legal, tax, or liability purposes.

Your choices and data deletion

You may request a copy of the information we hold about a rider, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it at any time. When an account is deleted, personal information is removed or anonymized; certain business and liability records may be retained as described above.
